Faith is a journey.
Meet Pastor David

When you meet Pastor David McGlocklin, the first thing you'll notice is his genuine desire to make you feel welcome. Whether you're taking your first steps toward knowing Jesus or you've walked with Him for decades, Pastor David's heart is to meet you exactly where you are. His primary hope is simple but profound: to introduce those who don't yet know Jesus to the Savior who changed his life, and to help those who do know Him grow deeper in their love of God the Father, Jesus their Savior, and the Holy Spirit their Guide. He believes that discovering the truth of the Christian faith comes through deep exploration of both the Old and New Testaments, and he's committed to being a pastor you can trust to walk alongside you in your journey of faith, helping you grow in a relationship with Christ Jesus that transforms everything.
Pastor David's ministry journey reads like a love letter to the diverse body of Christ. He started at a church plant in a brand-new Southern California suburb where no two neighboring houses shared the same language, smells, or culture. He then spent nine and a half years in urban San Bernardino, where he helped negotiate the merger of seven churches into the multi-site, multi-language, multi-generational New Beginnings Methodist Church, serving as its first Executive Pastor. One story captures his pastoral heart perfectly: Caesar, a kindergartener at Vacation Bible School who knew how to smoke crack at age five, became a young man who returned years later asking to serve at the church that had loved him every summer. Walking with Caesar from the prevenient grace of God acting through a community that never gave up on him, to his profession of faith, to discovering his gifts on the multimedia team. That's the kind of transformation that fills Pastor David's soul. Now serving the small rural ranching community of Edgewood, Texas for nearly seven years, he continues to value what John Wesley and the Apostle Paul modeled: learning about different cultures and connecting life experience to the people he's called to serve for Kingdom purposes.
For Pastor David, "soul space" is that sacred place where we meet God and are transformed. It has looked different in every season and setting. In Southern California's urban diversity, it meant staying grounded in orthodox Wesleyan faith while reaching people with different faiths and no faith, and helping them make a connection with God and their neighbor. In San Bernardino, it came alive every time he watched someone move from fear to loving embrace of their neighbors. In East Texas, he finds it in quiet evening walks, early morning Bible studies, Wednesday online prayer meetings where the church prays for more than 75 people each week, blended worship with incredible musicians, and watching young people discover their gifts. But in every setting, from suburban California to urban blight to rural Texas ranching country, soul space has always been found in the same place: between the personal and social holiness of people who love God, call Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior, and are moving on to perfection by the power of the Holy Spirit. That's the journey he invites you to join.
